Clean Sky 2 is the largest European research programme developing innovative, cutting-edge technology aimed at reducing CO2, NOx emissions and noise levels produced by aircraft. Funded by the European Union under the Horizon2020 Framework, it contributes to maintaining global leadership in European aeronautics, thanks to the participation of a large number of Enterprises, Research Centres and University working on a wider range of thematic (systems, airframe, engine, operations, ecological design). Clean Sky 2 is structured on four different elements:

.Innovative Aircraft Demonstrator Platforms (IADPs) for Large Passenger Aircraft (LPA), Green Regional Aircraft (GRA) and Fast Rotorcraft (FCR), operating demonstrators at vehicle level.

.Integrated Technology Demonstrators (ITDs): Airframe, Engines and Systems, using demonstrators at system level.

.Technology Evaluator (TE), assessing the environmental and societal impact of the technologies developed in the IADPs and ITDs.

.Transverse Activities (Eco-Design and Small Air Transport (SAT)), integrating the knowledge of different ITDs and IADPs for specific applications.
