A Piaggio Aerospace Team participated in the annual Clean Aviation Forum in Bruxelles on the 5th and 6th of March. During the event, the main achievements of the research at a European level on the decarbonisation of air transport have been shared.

Piaggio Aerospace led the research activities on a transversal Project called SAT (Small Air Transport), involving more than a hundred European partners. Its objective: developing innovative solutions for aerostructure, systems and
propulsion for small aircraft and improving efficiency and safety through a
“more electric” and digital flight control system. The enabling technologies
developed have been integrated and tested in the “Aircraft Zero Lab” Full Scale Iron Bird (ground-based integration test rig) at Piaggio Aerospace’s site in Villanova d’Albenga (Italy).

These remarkable accomplishments confirm the company’s commitment to find innovative solutions for System Electrification and Digitalization as key drivers to meet the increasing market demands for a more sustainable and safer air mobility.
