The 12th EASN Conference on Innovation in Aviation & Space to the Satisfaction of the European Citizens has taken place in Barcelona from 18th to 21st October 2022.
EASN Conference is intended both as a forum to discuss innovative ideas, disruptive technologies and breakthrough concepts and, at the same time, it has the important scope to disseminate the knowledge and the results achieved so far in the Research Projects active in aviation and space fields.
The event includes a series of Keynote Lectures, given by distinguished personalities of the European Aviation and Space Community, including industry, research and policymaking.
In addition, Technical Sessions and Workshops has been organized to share ideas on specific topics.
During the event, Piaggio Aerospace presented the paper “Eco-friendly electric-hybrid small commuter paving the way to near zero emissions in aviation” by Diego Giuseppe Romano, Aniello Cozzolino. The paper has been discussed during the Clean Sky 2 Technology Evaluator dedicated workshop session.
This work describes the hybrid electric small commuter developed within SAT project and preliminary aircraft mission analyses.
It has been demonstrated the feasibility of a full electric mission below 200 nm: in this case the CO2 and NOX reduction are about 50% at 300 nm with the respect to green configuration.
Conference proceedings will be published in the open access publication series Institute Of Physics (IOP) Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering (ISSN: 1757-8981) of the IOP Publishing Ltd, fulfilling the Article 29 “Dissemination Of Results — Open Access — Visibility Of EU Funding” of Horizon2020 funded research projects.
