Following the 11th EASN Conference participation, in September 2021, we are delighted to announce the publication in the IOP (Institute of Physics) Journal of the two conference papers written and presented by our Piaggio Aerospace colleagues.

The first paper, written by Diego Giuseppe Romano and Gianvito Apuleo, titled “Improvement of European thin haul mobility: the role of small Green commuter aircraft”, describes the design of a small commuter aircraft, as a result of the integration of cutting-edge enabling technologies developed in the CleanSky 2 Program, together with the preliminary mission analysis, showing the achievement of Project goals in terms of CO2 and NOX emissions reduction.

The second paper, written by Paolo D’Alesio and Giorgio Travostino, in collaboration with the von Karman Institute, titled “CFD Wind Tunnel Assessment on the case study of the MOTHIF Blown Flap”, presents the comparison between experimental data and CFD simulations of an innovative blown flap high lift device developed and tested in the VKI L1-A large subsonic wind tunnel of von Karman Institute in the frame of MOTHIF project, with the aim to demonstrate how numerical computations can reduce both the risk for erroneous results in experimental activities and their related costs.
